The apparatus consists of an evaporating flask by heavy duty motor in a heating water bath. Vacuum distillation of solvent at high and low temperature is achieved quickly and efficiently by use of a variable speed motor, which presents foaming and bumping of the liquid solvent into the evaporating flask and also distillation under controlled atmosphere. The evaporating flask is pear shaped to give a large surface area of evaporation and is clamped to a glass duct which goes through the drive unit and protrudes about 120mm into the condenser. The condenser is fitted with slandered joints at the bottom for receiver flask. The unit is fitted with a quick action jack.
The driving unit consists of housing which fits the vapour at the lower end of the vapour duct a B-29 ground joint to hold the evaporating flasks. The condenser is fixed to a drive unit by a flange and is made of vacuum tight. The top end of the condenser is fitted with B-19 through which introduction tube is inserted. The stop can be used to seal the apparatus. The condenser is fitted with ball joint for connection of receiver flask also with a vacuum connection and with double coiled condenser for the cooling water suitable for 220 volts A.C Supply
